Law Programs offered by University of Papua New Guinea are
Bachelor of Law This program is offered over four-year period. Students must complete 36 courses, which comprise of 21 compulsory law courses, 9 optional law courses,3 enrichment and 3 broadening courses, and must score an aggregate GPA of 2.00 to be awarded a degree. The compulsory courses cover both substantive and procedural aspects of law. During the final year of study, all students are required to complete and submit a Major Research Paper of up to 10,000 words, which is designed to expose students to write up a topic after conducting individual research with minimal supervision by a staff supervisor. The optional or elective units are usually law options. However, students should take up to six (6) non-law courses, comprising of 3 compulsory enrichment courses and three (3) non-law broadening courses from other Schools within the University as part of the Enrichment component of their degree program and in accordance with the University restructure. How to apply to study Law at University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG)?The university accepts both international and domestic students in its Law Programs. There are two ways students can apply to study at UPNG.
School Leavers. School Leavers are students who currently in Grade 12 and expected to complete the secondary/ School Of Excellence Education and sit the National Examinations. Applications for School Leavers to study Law at UPNG are facilitated by PNG's Higher Education Office through their program called NOAS. Non School Leavers International Students and students who have completed year 12 or equivalent can apply to UPNG Law program through the Non School Leavers Application Forms.
