Postgraduate Diploma in education at the University of Goroka is a one year program for those who hold first degrees and would like to become teachers or trainers. In first semester, the program focuses on teaching and learning of pedagogical content knowledge and introduces the teaching and learning skills and methods in the foam of microteaching. In second semester, the program much longer practice time as a block teaching practice, whereby the students are exposed to the use of all learn subject and pedagogical content knowledge and skills. The aim of PGDE program is to develop or improve learner’s skill and methods to graduate to teach at least two subjects in their specialised field from recognised universities in PNG and overseas.

Courses outline: Following courses must be completed (120cps): Three courses including microteaching are taken in semester one; and two courses and a 6 weeks block practicum in semester two.
