Bachelor of Law
This program is offered over four-year period. Students must complete 36 courses, which comprise of 21 compulsory law courses, 9 optional law courses,3 enrichment and 3 broadening courses, and must score an aggregate GPA of 2.00 to be awarded a degree. The compulsory courses cover both substantive and procedural aspects of law. During the final year of study, all students are required to complete and submit a Major Research Paper of up to 10,000 words, which is designed to expose students to write up a topic after conducting individual research with minimal supervision by a staff supervisor. The optional or elective units are usually law options. However, students should take up to six (6) non-law courses, comprising of 3 compulsory enrichment courses and three (3) non-law broadening courses from other Schools within the University as part of the Enrichment component of their degree program and in accordance with the University restructure.

To apply, applicants must fulfill the following minimum eligibility criteria:

• Have graduated or will be graduating with a valid Grade 12 certificate, and/or equivalent.
• Have obtained “B” or better grades in Advanced Mathematics [or] General Mathematics,Language & Literature [or] Applied English and other Core subjects taken in Grade 12
• Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0.

​Postgraduate Diploma in education at the University of Goroka is a one year program for those who hold first degrees and would like to become teachers or trainers. In first semester, the program focuses on teaching and learning of pedagogical content knowledge and introduces the teaching and learning skills and methods in the foam of microteaching. In second semester, the program much longer practice time as a block teaching practice, whereby the students are exposed to the use of all learn subject and pedagogical content knowledge and skills. The University of Goroka in PNG offers Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education. this program is completed by research thesis but three/four prerequisite courses can do as prerequisite to the Doctor of Philosophy Program.

Duration : 4 Years full time/8 Years part time 
Minimum Requirements: The candidate must have a GPA of 3.7 or better. In other words, the applicants who have excellent academic results and have developed expertise in a substantive area at the Honours or Masters levels. As per By-law No.13 Section 2 and 3 for admission to Doctoral candidature shall have: 1. Qualified for the award of a Master degree by research at an acceptable level; or 2. An appropriate Bachelor degree with class 1 or class 2(i) Honours from PNG university or an equivalent overseas tertiary institution, taken over a minimum of four years (full-time) Equivalent); or 3. Qualified for entry into the UOG Master degree by research Program and duly enrolled and shown exceptional ability in the conduct of a research project which is clearly capable of being extended to a doctoral level; and 4. Must have some recent publications related to area of interest.

• More than two years of work experience in a relevant field of education.
• Two references from current or recent employer for more than two years. References from employers more than 5 years ago will not be considered.
•  A research proposal of 500 words maximum in a nominated field of study.6
•  Applicants without an Honors qualification but wish to apply for a Masters must have an average GPA of 3.0 or better at undergraduate studies in 300- and 400-level of Bachelor of Education courses or equivalent.
