Master of Education at University of Goroka

The University of Goroka in Papua New Guinea offers Master of Education Program. The Master of Education majoring in teaching and Teacher Education; Curriculum studies; Educational Leadership and Management; Governance; and policy and planning. Each program consists of four or five courses and a research thesis. Three /four courses are taken in semester one mainly to provide knowledge and skills in subject content and research to prepare the candidates to complete their Masters thesis which done in next two semesters. Apart from the thesis, courses completed as part of Master of Education majoring in:

• ETA603 - Reading Course (Optional).

Courses completed as part of Master of Education majoring in Curriculum studies are:

• PPP701 - Advance Research Method
• PPP702 - Thesis Writing
• ETA701 - Research Theories and Approaches in education
• ET702 - Special Topic/Topic in Curriculum studies
• ETA603 - Reading Course (Optional).

Courses completed as part of Master of Education majoring in Educational Leadership and Management; Governance; and policy and planning are:

Mininum Entry Requirements

•  Bachelor of Education Honors, Second Class Upper Division or better from a recognized institution.
• More than two years of work experience in a relevant field of education.
• Two references from current or recent employer for more than two years. References from employers more than 5 years ago will not be considered.
•  A research proposal of 500 words maximum in a nominated field of study.6
•  Applicants without an Honors qualification but wish to apply for a Masters must have an average GPA of 3.0 or better at undergraduate studies in 300- and 400-level of Bachelor of Education courses or equivalent.

Credit Points
180 - 205 credit points to graduate with Master of Education.
