Study in Dublin in Ireland. A PhD PhD studentship in functional data clustering at Trinity College Dublin is now open.
The School of Computer Science and Statistics in Trinity College Dublin is now inviting applications for a fully funded 4-year PhD Scholarship in collaboration with Dr Mimi Zhang, in the broad area of functional data machine learning. Interest in functional data has undergone phenomenal growth after the turn of the century, stimulated partially by advances in data-collection technology that have brought about the “Big Data” revolution. A functional datum is not a single observation but rather a set of measurements along a continuum that, taken together, are to be regarded as a single entity.

The scholarship will be for 4 years. The scholarship will pay for the tuition fees of the candidate and provide (1) stipendiary allowance of €18,500 per year, (2) financial support towards the student’s conference travel, €1500 per year, (3) financial support towards the student’s research trips, two to three research trips to international institutions, (4) a generous budget for a laptop, office products and learning materials, training, etc.
