![]() Study in Germany. Applications are invited for a Fully Funded PhD Scholarship Position in Pharmacology at the University of Freiburg, Germany in 2019/2020. Institute of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology has a long-standing interest in signalling mechanisms to the cytoskeleton that drive cancer cell migration and invasion. The institute has a Fully Funded PhD Scholarship position and looking for a dedicated PhD scholar to strengthen our team. We discovered dynamic and regulated assembly of nuclear actin filaments that regulate chromatin dynamics in response to extracellular signals and during cell division. We now aim to elucidate the molecular mechanisms and the functional impact of nuclear actin filaments for intranuclear transport as well as for cancer cell motility. In our department, we use optogenetic tools, high-resolution live-cell imaging, protein biochemistry, 3D cell culture and invasion assays. The University of Freiburg is one of the leading universities in the life sciences in Germany with the Spemann Graduate School of Biology and Medicine as well as recently established cluster of excellence CIBSS – Center for Integrative Biological Signaling Studies.
