- Eligibility Criteria
PhD Students : Must hold invitations from eligible Slovak institutions and provide detailed research plans aligned with their field of study.
University Teachers, Researchers, and Artists : Must have a PhD degree (or equivalent) or at least 4 years of relevant work experience (PhD studies count as work experience). Exceptions may be considered for special cases, such as force majeure situations.
Applicants must not have received an NSP scholarship in the past two years, barring exceptional circumstances. The program excludes those residing in Slovakia, enrolled in full-degree programs, or receiving other public-funded scholarships.

Scholarship Benefits

- Monthly stipends: €620 (university students), €1,025.50 (PhD students), and higher amounts for academics based on experience.
- Travel grants based on distance to Slovakia.
- Reimbursement of up to €250 for medical examination fees (for stays over 90 days).
- University students: 1–2 semesters.
- PhD students and academics: 1–10 months.
- Submit applications online via the NSP portal by April 30 or October 31 annually.
- Required documents include CVs, motivation letters, detailed study/research plans, recommendation letters, acceptance/invitation letters from Slovak host institutions, diplomas, and confirmation of current studies or work status.
- Documents must be in Slovak or English, with certified translations provided for documents in other languages.

- Quality and relevance of the proposed study/research/artistic program.
- Applicant’s professional and personal qualities.
- Contribution to the host institution.
- Overall quality and consistency of the application.
- Scholarship holders must adhere to approved programs and submit interim/final reports.
- Non-compliance may result in reduced funding or repayment of disbursed amounts.
- Changes to stay details require prior approval from the Programme Administrator.
- Important Deadlines
- Original acceptance/invitation letters must reach SAIA within three working days post-deadline.
