Colombo Plan Scholarship in Engineering at Auckland University in New Zealand

Here is a great scholarship opportunity for international students from selected countries to study Engineering in New Zealand. The Scholarship was established in 2011 and is funded by alumni of the Faculty of Engineering who studied at the
University of Auckland under the Colombo Plan, together with other donors.

Scholarship Program

Field of study: Engineering courses offered by the University.

Selection Criteria
The basis of selection will be academic merit, financial need, community activities, communication skills, leadership potential and desire to contribute positively to the engineering profession.

  • Application is made to the Scholarships Office
  • A Selection Committee assesses the applications
  • The Scholarship is awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of the Selection Committee

Eligible Nationality: The Scholarship is awarded to an international student who is a citizen of one of the following countries:
Afganistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the United States of America and Vietnam.

Scholarship Awards: $3,000

Tenure of award:  1 year

How to apply for this scholarship
In order to apply for this scholarship, you must apply first to study at the University of Auckland. This means the Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time enrolment in a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or any postgraduate degree programme in the Faculty of Engineering.  Scholarship applications are made to the Scholarship office at the University.
